It’s fucking scary.
But things are still a lot better than they were this time last year.
This is a photo of me and my Grandpa on my mum’s side celebrating my first birthday. I’ve never posted a photo of anyone in my family before on tumblr (out of respect for their privacy and mine) but I wanted to share this because it’s one of my favourites. I was, somehow, quite a tanned baby (but not quite as tanned as my Grandpa!) and I definitely have that side of the family’s chin… Note my stylish sailor dress and fluffy blonde hair :)
Every single one of the candidates currently running for the Republican nomination is a walking disaster. But one of them, Texas congressman Ron Paul, seems to be getting a disturbing amount of support from liberals. Mostly that’s because his nut-job libertarian views happen to not sound so nutty…

I’m numb from shock. The world is now officially my oyster.
Come at me, life.
The benefits of having a late 80s/early 90s hippie mother (belted midi length vintage dresses agogo. Free Nelson Mandela and save the rainforest).
My plan was to do my usual hot pants and t-shirts/blouses/cropped tops (in my usual failed attempts to work the pin up look) but after a bit of cultural research I’ve discovered that showing the tops of your legs and cleavage is hugely frowned upon in that part of the world - even the men rarely wear shorts. However, this is perfectly acceptable on the beach, so I’ll be back to my old ways as I frolic in the sand and surf.
But yeah, my mum used to look pretty glamorous. I’ve made some great finds in her wardrobe so far and she’s even offered to bring some of her older stuff down from the attic. It feels a bit odd having such a drastic style change but I think that this is probably a good thing given my new hair and look. Change is good.
So excited for this holiday now. Give me all of the wine, food and sun.
TEMPTATION.
