Yes, I cooked a proper meal from scratch and it was delicious.
It may have just been one dish and it may have taken me ages, but this is a huge step forward for me - I used to be a pretty good cook but lost my confidence (and appetite) for a while, so this is progress.
If anyone can recommend any recipes or anything, give me a shout :)
This morning my mum drove both me and her to see my auntie in the south side.
We went via Partick because she had some errands to run and whilst there we spotted some members of the delightful Orange Order preparing for one of their little gatherings. Their behaviour is a cause for great dismay in this part of the world and I am never embarrassed to speak of them as the cretins that they are; I have no respect for them whatsoever. Whilst I fully appreciate the right to freedom of speech as guaranteed by the European Convention of Human Rights, there is no right to bigotry.
I made a comment to this extent to my mum and she echoed my sentiments. She added, however, that one of their little displays took place on the afternoon that she went into labour with me [for those of you that do not know, I was born almost 3 months prematurely - my birth was a very risky experience and I was in hospital for over a month until I was declared healthy enough to wreak havoc upon the world]. She added, however, that the ambulance taking her to hospital was stuck in traffic for almost an hour because of their charming parade. Her exact words were:
‘If you’d have been delivered and died in that ambulance, I would have sued those absolute cunts.’
Sheer poetry.
I’d never been that far south in France before; I’ve obviously been missing out.
Great people, great food, great weather and great culture. The sun may not agree with my hair but it sure has brightened me up.
Vintage shopping, chocolate, sunshine, museum visiting, listening to music, watching American teen movies dubbed in French, cooking, drinking wine, wandering for the sake of wandering, people watching, appreciating art. Mais oui.
